Autumn Market Update

As we enter the second quarter of the year, we FINALLY have some lovely Autumnal cooling in the evenings, without compromising the brilliant sunshine of the days…the property market has also cooled off somewhat, but the Sunshine Coast region, particularly along the coastal strip is still one of the nation’s strongest performers.

We continue to hear and read about the weakening of the market, with some predictions of catastrophic price decline; and the uncertainty prior to the pending Federal election is adding to the general anxiety and negativity surrounding the next phase of the property market at the moment.

The good news really is that the Sunshine Coast market has been quite protected from the harsh exposure that have seen Sydney and Melbourne markets hit freefall in some instances. Our market is still considered significantly more affordable which attracts investors and lifestyle buyers moving from cities, and at the same time, this region has been experiencing strong jobs growth on the back of an injection of billions of dollars from the public and private sector on massive infrastructure projects. There is a confidence in this region that this investment has generated which still has noticeable momentum and traction.

If you are thinking of selling, Autumn, with its glorious weather is a wonderful time to showcase your property and the lifestyle benefits of Sunshine Coast living. Southerners flock here for their mid-year vacations to soak up some toasty sunshine and escape the cold…sellers can take advantage of this, and the time to start preparing your property for the campaign is now.
