Happy Easter

It feels like we’ve just dusted off Christmas and New Year celebrations, and here we are on the eve of the Easter weekend!

The Sunshine Coast will be absolutely packed with most accommodation houses full, good news for those in the hospitality industry – Easter is one of the Coast’s peak tourism times, with thousands flocking here for the great weather, stunning beaches, and relaxed vibe.

If you are looking for something different to do over the weekend, just up the road at Coolum, the Coolum Art Collective is celebrating 50 years of inspiring the community with a wonderful exhibition at the Coolum Civic Centre, from Good Friday through to Easter Sunday. Showcasing over 200 artworks from the Sunshine Coast’s top artists; ranging from portraits, land and seascapes plus more, using a variety of mediums – the artwork is available not just to admire, but also purchase. There will also be themed works “back to the ‘60s”. Entry is free and visitors can also vote for their favourite artist in the People’s Choice Award. The Easter Art Exhibition is open from 9:30am-4:30pm April 19 to April 21st.

There are plenty of other things to do in and around this fabulous region – from markets, picnics in the hinterland or beach, swimming and fishing in our many waterways, climbing Mount Coolum, strolling along the scenic boardwalk that hugs the coastline from Marcoola to Coolum, lunch or dinner at one of the boutique eateries or surf clubs, or just chilling at home with a good book and taking the opportunity to wind down.

Whatever you decide to do; stay safe and relax.
